Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care

The Institute of Medicine was requested by Congress to assess the extent of racial and
ethnic differences in the quality of health care received by patients. This study focuses on the reasonings behind racial and ethnic disparities in health and shares insights on how disparities can be reduced.
