Appetite For Change was founded in early 2011(as Urban Baby, Inc.) on the principle that healthy eating is the key to healthy living and food can be a change agent for creating stronger families and communities. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in North Minneapolis. We began our work by providing direct services to agencies and families in Minneapolis through hands-on, healthy cooking workshops. After only six months of services, we quickly realized that the key to successful programming is community leadership and ownership of the work and the organization itself. We shifted gears a bit and began working towards becoming a more constituency-led organization using food and cooking as a vehicle for social change. Appetite For Change is dedicated to creating products and services that are shaped, implemented and evaluated by the communities we serve. Food can be a tool to get to the roots of racial and social inequities, and we are committed to working on projects that seek to build equality.
