The Social Innovation Exchange, co-hosted by Ashoka & Engine, is designed to advance the knowledge, network and capabilities of curious, active and engaged social innovators throughout the greater Twin Cities. Through the Exchange, Engine and Ashoka aim to support social innovation and community engagement in the Twin Cities by providing the platform for these individuals and their ideas to meet, connect and collaborate.
The Social Innovation Exchange is a series of six events, hosted every other Tuesday throughout the summer of 2011. The first hour of each event is designed to explore the work and ideas of current innovators through a panel format. Each event will host a differnt set of panelists with varying experiences and perspectives.
The second hour of each event is for individuals to connect/reconnect, explore and collaborate. Central to this is the ‘Wall of Innovation’ – where participants can list their ideas, their needed resources or their available resources. This information will be collected at the end of every session and re-posted on InCommons (www.incommons.org), where participants can continue the discussion from the event and further the connections and resource-sharing made at the event. Additionally, a short report, including outcomes and takeaways, information delivered, satisfaction survey results and other information will be shared at the end of the series.
